Do you think your mom's the BOMB? :) Yeah, me too! Unfortunately my Mother's Day DIY gift idea was also a complete BOMB! :(
My amazing idea was to make bath bombs with the kids from my church so that they could give them to their moms on Mother's Day...
Unfortunately the process that looked so simple online didn't go exactly as planned. Our bath bombs ended up looking more like bath 'powder' the first, second and third times around!
The bad news? Even after multiple attempts we could not figure out how to make the bath bombs hold their spherical shape. (Seriously if anyone has made bath bombs before...please let me in on the secret! The 12 year old girls on Youtube make it look so easy so I know I must be missing something!!)
The good news? Bath bomb "debris" looks SUPER cute wrapped up and tied with a bow! (see below)
This morning the mom's at my church will be going home with really cute packages of Lavender and Citrus Bliss scented bath bomb debris! My hope is that when life feels chaotic- the laundry isn't done, there are dishes in the sink, the kids are fighting, work is stressful, projects don't go as planned (*ahem*)- the bath salts would encourage those moms to take a moment to heed God's advice to "be still and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10.
Today and everyday I'm super thankful for the 'wow' mom that I have! Not only is she incredibly talented, amazingly brilliant, super warm and so much fun, but she's also a passionate follower of Jesus Christ! Thank-you mom for modelling for me what a relationship with Christ looks like- putting other people before yourself, loving unconditionally, spending time reading God's word, seeking first the kingdom of God Matt 6:33 and encouraging others to enter a relationship with Him too!
I'm so proud of you mom and I love you SO much!
Happy Mother's Day to all the mommas out there!
