Nothing says SUMMER in Ontario quite like strawberry picking! Picking berries has been a tradition in my family since I was a little girl. As a kid I remember thinking that the picking part was OKAY, but that the real THRILL was making (and let’s be real…EATING) the strawberry jam with my mom afterwards!
This year we laughed when we got to the strawberry patch! The strawberries were SO small that we thought they were raspberries until we got down to take a closer look. I think our food is so processed now that we’re used to seeing jumbo sized EVERYTHING! I mean, have you taken a look at grapes recently? Some of them are the size of what two grapes used to be! I guess the same is true for strawberries. Although tiny, the strawberries we picked were delicious! I can’t wait to enjoy whatever my mom ends up making with them!!
