I used to think that drinking a green shake was a sacrifice. Giving up solid food for a mediocre tasting beverage just didn't seem worth it, even if it was for the sake of health! I think the reason I didn't enjoy shakes was because I hadn't found a combination of ingredients that I really liked the taste of. That is...until I discovered cocoa powder!! Cocoa powder is a total GAME CHANGER! The first time I added it to my shake, I enjoyed it SO much that I actually couldn't wait to have my next one! Drinking it felt like a treat instead of a punishment. If you're a chocolate lover like me, you should definitely add some cocoa powder to your next shake. I promise you'll love it!
- 1 frozen banana (frozen tastes way better in a shake)
- 1/2 C frozen blueberries
- 2 C of spinach (or kale)
- 1/2- 1 C of milk
- 2 tbsp of cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp of chia seeds
1. Put all ingredients into the blender...starting with the spinach!
2. Blend all ingredients together! Feel free to add more water/milk to your shake in order to achieve your desired consistency. I like mine super thick (see videos below)!
3. ENJOY!! It's seriously SO GOOD!
