According to the always reliable internet (lol) Kombucha is the new SUPER food, or DRINK rather! Kombucha is an ancient fermented tea bevie that was once referred to as an "Immortal Health Elixir" by the Chinese. It boasts a long list of benefits including:

2. ARTHRITIS PREVENTION
3. IMPROVED DIGESTION
4. BOOSTED IMMUNE SYSTEM
5. INCREASED ENERGY
I first tried Kombucha during a school lunch break with my friend/co-worker Jenna. We found a bottle in the grocery store and were SO excited and intrigued by the fact that it had LIVING SCOBI in it that we just HAAAAD to give it a try. I had a few sips and thought it was pretty good (or at least not as bad as I was expecting). I didn't feel any energy boost and was pretty sure that my 3 sips wouldn't have resulted in any improved digestion, liver detox or boosted immune system. Soooo....when I saw that Kombucha was on SALE at Sobeys this week, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try it again!
It took me 2.5 days to drink the bottle that I bought...mainly because the taste is pretty severe, but also because I'd start to think about the fact that there's living bacteria in the bottle, and I'd get grossed out and have to put it back into the fridge LOL. Even though I drank the bottle slowly....I DEFINITELY felt the DETOX this time. In a not so good way. ha. If you plan on drinking Kombucha for the FIRST time, drink SLOWLY and make sure you're never too far from a bathroom ;) !
