On Monday morning, Phylicia, Jenna, Stephanie and I set out for Haliburton for a girls "weekend" away! This was something we had talked about at the end of the school year, but that I honestly didn't ACTUALLY think would happen. I'm so happy that it did!!
It's hard to summarize EVERYTHING that took place over the 3 days, so here are some of the highlights of the trip for me:
1. Discovering a love for snapchat!
Phylicia decided to get snapchat one night and so I thought I'd reactivate my old account! I used to be a snap chat lover and then got over it. WELL....I'm feeling the love again! We spent way too much time snapping videos (sorry to everyone who got them...lol) about our feet, euchre tournament etc. and laughing so hard about our ridiculous snap chat stories!
2. Having lots of time to chat (while tanning on the dock)!
Phylicia, Jenna, Stephanie and I are lucky enough to work together and we make time to chat during the school day, but it's often about school related issues. I loved that we had time this "weekend" to have real life chats that weren't (all) about school! :) I'm so lucky to have awesome friends to work AND do life with!
3. Touille, Touille-two, Touille-three....
Well we had some unexpected visitors at the cottage this weekend- small furry friends that we decided to name... and then kill. Our first night, Touille (as in Ratatouille) came strolling into the family room where we were playing games and we totally freaked out! We scrambled to find a mouse trap, set it, and within 30 minutes, we had caught our friend! Steph took him outside to give him a burial, while Jenna and I stayed far away, standing in a tight embrace on the couch! The next day we drove into Haliburton to get some more traps and we ended up catching 2 more friends!! We had so many laughs while trying to check if we had caught/killed any mice and while removing the dead mice from the cottage. RIP Touille 1,2 and 3!
4. Playing Euchre and President (and NOT skip-bo)
We played LOTS of games at the cottage- Skip-Bo (or Skibooo, as Jenna calls it LOL), Euchre, President and Mexican Train Dominoes. If you know me, you know how much I LOVE GAMES! And, I don't want to brag, but STEPH and I TOTALLY killed it as Euchre partners! Jenna and Phyli- we're ready for tournament #2! :)
5. Eating like QUEENS
A few days before we left for the cottage, Steph sent out a meal plan for the "weekend" and honestly it was SO impressive! I don't think I've ever eaten so well....EVER! HA. I'm talking eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit for breakfast, prosciutto and cheese for snacks, salmon and santa fe salads for dinner! It was amazing!
Thanks for the awesome "weekend" ladies! I can't WAIT for next year! xoxoxo
