As a kid I loved Halloween- dressing up, getting free candy, sorting the candy and making 'strategic deals' with my siblings to create the perfect collection of my favourite treats. I mean even now I'm thinking WOW... life doesn't get much better than that! HA.
One of the best things about Halloween growing up was that my mom actually sewed all of our costumes herself! That meant that the costume possibilities were actually endless! One year my brother Robert wanted to be a flashlight and so my mom created a flashlight costume for him that actually shone light! One year I wanted to be a piece of cake (don't ask me why...lol) so my mom sewed a piece of cake with a life-sized fork to boot! One year John wanted to be a mummy and my mom made him a mummy costume. When he got to school everyone thought he was a chicken... ha ha. I guess you can't win 'em all!
I wanted to carry on the tradition of creating costumes for my kids SO this year was super special because, along with my mom, I actually helped to sew Lotte's first Halloween costume!
What did we decide to dress up as this year?
The characters from CHARLOTTE'S WEB... obviously! I decided on our costume almost immediately after we decided on the name Charlotte for our new babe. And even though I don't typically like spiders in my home... I'm willing to make an exception for this one!
This year we went trick-or-treating for the first time in about 15 years! Honestly...I had forgotten how much fun it is! Especially when you have a crew like ours- 2 monkeys, 1 unicorn, 1 cowboy and 1 spider... it doesn't get much cuter!
HAPPY SUGAR-COMA RECOVERY DAY, EVERYONE! xo
