Kids are the best. WAAAY too often I find myself laughing over something that a student says during the school day and I always think "I've got to write that down" and then I never end up writing it down and I end up forgetting what was said! This week I remembered to jot a few things down, so enjoy!! ....
A grade 3 student said to me in the middle of class "I can't wait to go home today!" and I said "Oh. What are you doing at home? Playing video games?" and he said (in all seriousness) "ummmm....well it's just that I need to poo! I've had to poo ALL day and I just can't!". HA. I told him he should eat a lot of fruit and raisins....ha hopefully that was the advice he was looking for!
I asked the kindergarten students to decorate music notes and each student was handed one pencil crayon. One little girl was handed a green pencil crayon and came up to me crying saying "I need PINK!! I CAN'T USE GREEN!! My mom will be SOOOOO mad!!" HA HA.
While walking a different kindergarten class to my music room, one boy told me that he had a REAL magic wand at home. The boy behind him started crying. I asked what was wrong and he said, "I don't have a magic wand. I want one, but I only have a fake one!"
These are just a few of the GEMS that I get to hear on a regular basis! I have the BEST job! :)
