Yesterday my Grandpa Rawlins celebrated his 100th birthday! Think about that for a minute. 100 years. That's a LOT of life... a lot of TIME! I'm really proud of my grandpa- not because he made it to 100- but because I think he's used his time really well. And I don't think that's easy to do.
Yesterday at his big 100th birthday celebration, his four sons and 14 grandchildren spoke about who grandpa is and what he means to them. Some of the adjectives used to describe him were: rock, steadfast, wise, organized, patient, loving and kind. Wow! I hope that I can use my time well- investing in loving people, learning to hold my tongue so I only say things that build people up, and putting others before myself- so that I can carry on the incredible legacy that my grandpa has started.
I'm so thankful for the influence my grandpa has had on my life- for raising my dad, for putting family first, and for modelling how to live a life that acknowledges Jesus Christ as Lord.
Well done, Grandpa! Happy Birthday!
